abstract Derivatives of 2-hydroxy-naphthalene of the general formula wherein and mean and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are identical or different and have the meaning given in claim 1, for example H and alkylaryl.n n n They are prepared from the corresponding hydroxynaphthalenesulfonic acids by reacting them with the corresponding amines, the hydroxyl group (s) being protected during the reaction. They are used as coupling components in diazo material.n n n Fig. 1 shows the superior light stability of a diazo film pattern (Dvis means visual density), produced with a coupling component according to the application (line 4) compared to other patterns (lines 1-3).
