titleOfInvention | Electric batteries, accumulators and generators with non-metallic or solution electrodes |
abstract | Batteries, accumulators or electrochemical generators of electrical energy, of which the negative electrode (anode) consists of at least one alkali halide, in aqueous or alkaline solution, or of a metal halide, and of an auxiliary collecting electrode of the current. The positive electrode (cathode) consists of at least one metal oxide or hydroxide which can be in solution in the electrolyte and which, pre-activates or regenerates permanently by the presence of air or oxygen introduced into the alkaline solution which bathes the cathode, provides the hydroxyl ions necessary for the oxidation of the halide constituting the anode. In addition, certain compounds of the anode, according to the invention, can be regenerated thermally or photonically. Various applications of these devices, in particular sea water, can be implemented for the supply of electrical energy, using readily available and inexpensive fuel. |
