abstract A disposable contraceptive intravaginal barrier of one, two, three, four, or five layers in the form of standard pessaries with at least one layer impermeable to the passage of sperm (7), with a drug such as a spermicide, a germicide, or an agent which causes abortion to be impregnated either in a layer of plastic foam (15) or in the form of a layer of colloid or powder (24), said medicament being active in contact with an aqueous solution. The medicated pessary solves the problem of the user by providing the previous non-medicated pessary with an appropriate amount and type of drug.
