The present invention relates to thermotropic polyester carbonates conformable of high molecular weight. These copolyesters are made up of units of formulas: (I) = ′ O-R-O ‶ a, ′ O-R1-O ‶ b, (II) = -? -; (III) = -CO-R2-CO-; in which: R represents a monosubstituted paraphenylene radical; R1 an unsubstituted paraphenylene radical; with 0.3 <= a <= 1, 0 <= b <= 0.7, a + b = 1; R2 represents a divalent aromatic or cycloaliphatic radical; the quantity of the units (II) in the mixture (II) + (III) being between 30 and 90% and the molar ratio of the units (I) relative to the whole (II) + (III) being between 0 , 95 and 1.05. These carbonate polyesters make it possible to obtain molded objects, threads and films. |
