A placenta-specific protein (PP 10 ) and a method for its enrichment from placental extract are described. The protein has an isoelectric point of 5.1 ± 0.3 and is characterized by a protein content of 93 ± 3% and a carbohydrate content of 6.65 ± 1.55%, of which 4.8 ± 1% hexoses, 1.2 ± 0.3% hexosamine, 0.05 ± 0.05% fucose and 0.6 ± 0.2% neuraminic acid. |
