abstract |
Pyridinesulfonamides of a general formulan and their agriculturally suitable salts wherein:n R 1 and R 2 are H or various substituents; R 3 and R. are independently H or CH 3 ; W is O or S: and R is a pyrimidyl or triazinyl residue which may be substituted; are of interest as herbicides for preemergence or post- emergence application and for regulating plant growth. The compounds can be made e.g. by reacting an appropriate pyridylsulfonyl isocyanate or isothiocyanate with an appropriate amino- or methylamino-substituted pyrimidine or triazine. The compounds can be formulated for use in conventional manner. |
