Quaternary ammonium salts of the formula <IMAGE> in which R¹, R² and R³ C1 to C4 alkyl, R <4> hydrogen, methyl or ethyl and Y <⊖> C3 to C18 alkane sulfonate, C2 to C18 alkene sulfonate, 2 -Hydroxy-C2- to C8-alkanesulfonate, where the alkane residue can be substituted by phenyl or cyclohexyl, by fluorine-substituted C6- to C10-alkanesulfonate, phenolsulfonate, C1- to C18-alkylphenylsulfonate, R <5> -? - O <⊖ >, where R <5> represents hydrogen, C1 to C18 alkyl, C2 to C18 hydroxyalkyl, C2 to C18 alkenyl or C5 to C19 alkyl substituted by fluorine or by fluorine and chlorine, 1/2 <⊖> O -? - X -? - O <⊖>, where X is C2- to C8-alkylene or alkenylene, mean ½ CO3 <2> <⊖> or hydrogen carbonate. With the compounds according to the invention as conductive salts, higher current yields with a simultaneously lower cell voltage are obtained in electrochemical processes. |
