abstract |
Process for the removal of silica from sugar solutions which have been obtained by acid hydrolysis of carbohydrate-containing natural plant products. The acidic sugar solutions are mixed with a soluble aluminum or iron (III) salt and then neutralized. The aluminum or iron (III) hydroxide precipitate containing the silica is separated from the solution. |
