abstract | Polyphosphazene polymers are prepared which contain repeating units represented by the formula:n wherein X and Y are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of: -0-, -S-, or -NH-; Ri-6 are independently selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms, cycloaliphatic compounds containing 3 to 10 carbon atoms, and substituted or unsubstituted aryl; a is 0 to 1, and 20≤ w ≤ 50,000 per polymer. n The polymers of the invention can be utilized to form protective films and can also be utilized in applications such as for molding, coatings, foams and the like. |
