The new glycol derivatives of formula (1) (FORMULA) in which R1 signifies hydrogen, alkyl with 1 to 4 C atoms or aryl R2 signifies hydrogen or alkyl with 1 to 4 C atoms R3 signifies hydrogen or a group of formula ( FORMULA) or Z is an alkyl residue, an optionally substituted aryl residue or a heterocyclic residue, R4 signifies a residue of formula (FORMULA) or R5 is hydrogen or a chlorine atom or a methyl group, present an interesting activity of lowering blood cholesterol and triglycerides. The preparation of these new derivatives is described either by reduction of the corresponding acids, or by reaction of a phenol of formula (FORMULA) with an alcohol of formula (FORMULA) followed by possible esterification. |
