abstract | Acylbiphenylylaminoalkanoic acids of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which R<1> signifies an aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon radical or an optionally substituted phenyl group, A signifies an optionally substituted and/or hydrogenated biphenylyl radical and n signifies a positive whole number from 3 to 5, as well as their salts of inorganic or organic barn exert on warm-blooded animals a protective action on the stomach and liver, and in addition they bring about an increase in the secretion of the pancreas and liver. In addition, they cause an inhibition of the formation of glucose from lactate and pyruvate in the liver. They are suitable for the treatment and prophylaxis of diseases which are due to disorders of the stomach or intestine or to reduced performances by the pancras, bile and/or liver. Processes for the production of the compounds and corresponding pharamaceutical products are given. |
