abstract The invention relates to 3-alkyl-5- (2-hydroxy-styryl) isoxazoles of the general formula (1) in which R is an alkyl radical with 1-4 C atoms and process for their preparation. The new compounds of the formula (1) represent valuable intermediates for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, in particular alkylamino-hydroxypropyl ether can be used for the treatment of hypertension, coronary heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias.
