abstract New process for the preparation of tris (polyoxaalkyl) amines, characterized in that an alkali metal salt of a monoalkyl ether of an ethylene glycol of the formula: (I) R′O - CH2 - CH2 ‶ xO - M is condensed R represents a C1-C8 alkyl radical, x represents an integer between 1 and 4, and M represents an alkali metal atom chosen from sodium, potassium or lithium, on a chosen "tris (haloethyl) amine" among tris (2-chloroethyl) amine hydrochloride, tris (2-chloro-ethyl) amine or tris (2-ethyl bromo) amine according to the molar ratio of alkali metal salt of formula (I) / "tris (haloethyl) ) amine "between 3 and 5, then separating the tris (polyoxaalkyl) amine obtained of formula: <IMAGE> Tris (polyoxaalkyl) amines thus obtained.
