abstract The invention relates to new aminocardenolide derivatives and to a process for the preparation by reaction of an oxo-3-genin with an ammonium salt in the presence of a borocyanohydride in an organic solvent, to form the compounds of formula : <IMAGE> in which R1, R2, R4, R5, and R6, identical or different, represent a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy, alkoxy or acyloxy group; R3 represents a lower alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, acyloxyalkyl, haloalkyl, or ethylene dioxyalkyl group; R7 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or acyl group; R8 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, or an amino acid residue. Application to the preparation of medicaments, in particular for the treatment of cardiac affections.
