abstract The halogenoacetyl group is a useful protective group for amino compounds, but the known reaction for removing this protective group with thiourea has disadvantages. According to the invention, a halogenoacetyl group is removed from a halogenoactyl amino compound in a short period of reaction time by reacting the halogenoacetyl amino compound with an N-substituted dithiocarbamic acid or a salt thereof. This reaction is useful in the chemical synthesis of compounds containing amino groups.
