New compounds of general formula I. wherein R 'represents hydrogen, methyl, hydroxymethyl, mono-, di or trihalomethyl and R 2 represents lower alkyl, hydroxy lower alkyl or guanidino lower alkyl, except for the groups of this type normally found in proteins; with R configuration on the C atom marked with (a) (if R 'is not hydrogen) and L configuration on the C atom marked with (b) as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. These compounds have an antibacterial effect and potentiate the effects of antibiotics. They can be produced by methods known per se. |
