The invention relates to a process for the preparation of sulfonic acid chlorides by reacting aromatic compounds with chlorosulfonic acid and phosgene, in which first about stoichiometric amounts of the aromatic compound are reacted with chlorosulfonic acid, optionally in the presence of a sulfonation aid, and then reacted with phosgene in the presence of a catalyst. |
