This application relates to 5-phenyl-1H-pyridin-2-one and 6-phenyl-2H-pyridazin-3-one derivatives of the generic formulas I-III: (I) (II) (III) in which the variables R, X, Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, n and m have the meanings defined above, which inhibit Btk. The compounds described herein are useful for modulating the activity of Btk and treating diseases associated with excessive activity of Btk. In addition, these compounds are useful for treating inflammatory and autoimmune diseases associated with aberrant B cell proliferation, for example rheumatoid arthritis. Compositions containing the compounds of formulas I-III and at least one carrier, diluent or excipient are also described. |
