abstract This invention makes available a pharmaceutical formulation for orla administration with prolonged release properties, which comprises an amount of gepirone HYDROCLORIDE, an amount of cellulosic polymer matrix and an amount of macrocrystalline cellulose, and characterized in that the pharmaceutically acceptable amount of cellulosic polymer matrix is 70 to 85% P., the amount of carbohydrate binder is 7 to 10% p. and the amount of gepirone hydrochloride is 13 to 21% p. The formulation is suitable for treatment with gepirone of depression or other disorders related to the central nervous system, administered once daily orally for a prolonged release of gepirone.
