abstract The present invention discloses a derivative of a natriuretic peptide of formula (I) and compositions comprising a derivative of a natriuretic peptide of formula (I), where z is 1, x is an integer from 2 to 4, and y is 3; or z represents 0, x represents an integer from 0 to 4, and y represents an integer from 1 to 3; fatty acyl contains from 12 to 24 (for example, from 12 to 18) carbon atoms; B is lysine or arginine; G represents glycine; NP is a natriuretic peptide; if present (fatty acyl) - covalently bind to the N-terminus in (B); (fatty acyl) - (B) - covalently linked to the N-terminus in (G); and (fatty acyl) - (B) - (G) - is covalently linked to the N-terminus in NP. The natriuretic peptide derivative according to the disclosure and its composition can be used in the treatment of diseases such as hypertension, vascular congestion and heart disease.
