abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing a catalyst component for olefin polymerization, comprising the steps of: i) introducing a compound RMgX, where R is an aromatic, aliphatic or cycloaliphatic group containing up to 20 carbon atoms, X is a halide, az is in the range of from more than 0 to less than 2, in contact with an alkoxy- or aryloxy-containing silane compound to obtain the first intermediate reaction product; ii) introducing the first intermediate reaction product into contact with at least one activating compound selected from the group formed by electron donors and compounds described by the formulas M (OR) (OR), where M may be Ti, Zr, Hf, Al or Si, and M (OR) (R), where M is Si, each of R and R is independently an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group, v is the valence of M, while v is either 3 or 4, and w is smaller , than v, to obtain the second intermediate reaction product; and iii) contacting the second intermediate reaction product with a halogen-containing Ti compound, a monoester as an activator, a 1,3-diester as an internal electron donor, and optionally a diester as an additional internal electron donor.
