titleOfInvention METHOD OF ISOLATION OF THEEAN
abstract The present invention relates to a method for the separation of theanine from an aqueous solution with a dominant cation comprising impurities. The method includes the steps of: introducing an aqueous solution into the column in an amount ranging from 2 to 20% of the column volume, where the column is filled with a cation exchange resin of a cation of the same type as the dominant cation; then the introduction of the aqueous mobile phase with a pH in the range from 2.5 to 8.5 in the column for elution of the zone rich in impurities, next to the zone rich in theanine; and then isolating at least one fraction of the theanine rich zone.
