abstract Chitosan-based nail art compositions are useful for treating inflammatory nail diseases like psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and lichen planus. Chitosan is usually in the form of a polysaccharide derivative, preferably water soluble, such as hydroxypropylchitosan. The drug may be a nail polish, a sprayed solution, cream, ointment, gel, lotion or foam and may have a content of chitosan, a derivative of chitosan or its salt from 0.1 to 25 wt.% Of the total weight of the drug.
