abstract The present invention relates to a compound of formula (I), its N-oxide, its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, its stereochemically isomeric form or its solvate, where X is N or CH; Y is a direct bond, CH — C (= O), where CH is attached to the N atom of the piperidine ring, C (= O) or S (= O); p is an integer in the value 1 or 2; R is CH (R) aryl or CH (R) heteroaryl; R is aryl or heteroaryl; R is hydrogen, C-alkyl, polyhalo-C-alkyl, C-alkyloxy, aryl, aryl-NH-, heteroaryl, heteroaryl-NH-, C-cycloalkyl, amino or mono- or di (C-alkyl) amino. The present invention also relates to the use of a compound of formula (I) for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of a disease mediated by activation of the CXCR3 receptor; to methods for producing compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutical compositions comprising them.
