titleOfInvention | PROSTETIC GERNOPLASTIC PATCH AND METHOD FOR ITS MANUFACTURE |
abstract | Prosthetic hernioplastic patch, comprising a frame made of strands twisted to form a cable, made of a shape memory alloy, and a prosthetic mesh material attached to said frame. In the absence of external restrictions, the frame obtained from the cable forms a contour of the desired shape. A prosthetic hernioplasty patch with such a framework can be rolled tightly or folded tightly so that it can be inserted into a trocar of a relatively small diameter. When the prosthetic hernioplastic patch is pushed out of the trocar into the patient's abdominal cavity, the patch frame is heated to a temperature at which the alloy from which the frame is made passes into the austenitic phase, and the prosthetic hernioplastic patch abruptly assumes a predetermined deployed configuration. The frame is connected to the prosthetic mesh material so that the patch will not move and there is no need to attach it to body tissues by sewing or using staples. |
