abstract | The invention relates to N- (trans-4-isopropylcyclohexylcarbonyl) -D-phenylalanine (nateglinide) in a new crystalline form "G" and its preparation. A method for producing chiral pure nateglinide is also presented by treating its lower alkyl ester with a base to form an alkali metal salt and releasing the product from this salt by appropriate addition of acid. Another aspect of the invention is a method of producing nateglinide in crystalline form "H" from other crystalline modifications of nateglinide. |
