| abstract | The present invention provides a core tablet, which, at least 95% by weight, consists of an aliphatic amine polymer. The invention also provides a method for producing a tablet core consisting of at least 95% by weight of an aliphatic amine polymer resin. The method includes the stage of pressing the polymer of aliphatic amine with the formation of the core tablets. The core tablet may additionally include one or more fillers. In this exemplary embodiment of the invention, a method for producing a tablet core comprises the steps of: 1) hydrating an aliphatic amine polymer to a desired moisture level; 2) mixing the polymer aliphatic amine with such amounts of fillers that the polymer is at least 95 wt.% The resulting mixture; and 3) pressing the mixture to form a tablet core. The present invention also relates to a coated tablet containing a core consisting of an aliphatic amine polymer in which the coating is a water-based coating.
