The present invention is an improved method for the synthesis of urea from ammonia and carbon dioxide, which prevents corrosion of plate joints for pipes and cooling pipes in contact with condensate, in a condenser installed vertically or horizontally. In accordance with this method, the areas in contact with condensate, the connections of the plate for pipes and cooling pipes in the condenser protect against corrosion by covering the areas with liquid ammonia or ammonium-enriched solution during the synthesis of urea, which includes separation of unreacted ammonia and unreacted dioxide carbon in the form of their gaseous mixture from the solution for the synthesis of urea at a pressure essentially equal to the pressure of the synthesis of urea, the contact of the gaseous mixture with the absorbing medium in the condensate re for condensation and condensate recycling to the synthesis column.
