abstract | The present invention provides the use of ghrelin for the treatment of minor brain injuries such as concussions. Also provided are methods of treating mild brain injury in a patient, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of ghrelin sufficient to provide a blood ghrelin level that is at least 1.5 times the patient's endogenous blood ghrelin level. In particular, ghrelin can be administered at a dose of 10 ng/kg per day to 10 mg/kg per day. |
