The invention relates to a method for determining a drug-induced response in a subject, comprising contacting a library of peptoid ligands on a carrier with a biological sample previously obtained from said subject; determining the binding characteristics of one or more biological markers in said sample to one or more peptoid ligands in the library and determining whether said one or more biological markers are associated with said drug-induced response, thereby determining said drug-induced response in said subject, wherein said drug-induced response is an adverse reaction to said drug, a side effect of said drug, resistance to said drug, or efficacy of a therapeutic dose of said drug, wherein said library contains a compound of formula (I), thereby diagnosing said drug-induced subject's reaction. This invention can significantly increase the number of high-affinity ligands that serve as diagnostic agents, as well as potential therapeutic agents. |
