titleOfInvention | WELLBORE CEMENTING METHOD |
abstract | A method for cementing a wellbore containing a drilling fluid, comprising pumping a cement separating fluid into the wellbore to displace the drilling fluid; pumping a cement slurry into the wellbore after pumping the cement separating fluid; curing cement in a slurry for cementing a wellbore, wherein the cement release fluid comprises an aqueous cement release fluid carrier and a preformed synthetic polymer swellable in the aqueous cement release agent in an amount effective to displace the drilling fluid during cementing, and the prepared synthetic polymer contains a copolymer of (meth)acrylamide with maleic anhydride, vinyl acetate, ethylene oxide, ethylene glycol, acrylonitrile, or a combination thereof containing at least one of the above polymers; poly(acrylamide) having crosslinks derived from polyethylene glycol diacrylate; poly(acrylic) acid having crosslinks derived from a vinyl ester oligomer; or poly(ethylene glycol) partially grafted with sodium salt of poly(acrylic acid); and the preformed synthetic polymer is present in the cement separating fluid at a concentration of 4.53 to 90.7 kg per 3785.41 liters of aqueous cement separating fluid carrier. |
