CORN CHROMOSOME SITE-TARGET AND METHOD FOR OBTAINING A TRANSGENOUS CORN PLANT |
abstract |
This invention relates to a maize chromosomal target site suitable for transgenic insertion and located on chromosome 5 of maize between nucleotide 1 and nucleotide 161752 of SEQ ID NO: 103 in the transgenic maize plant cell. Moreover, the target site includes a heterologous nucleotide sequence that is not naturally associated with the maize cell. In addition, this invention further relates to a method for producing a transgenic maize plant by inserting a heterologous nucleotide sequence into a position on maize chromosome 5 in the transgenic maize plant cell. This sequence is inserted into chromosome 5 of maize between nucleotides 75908 and 75946 of SEQ ID NO: 103, and it is not naturally associated with a maize cell. |
