The present invention relates to a catalyst composition comprising a compound represented by formula I as an internal electron donor in which R, R, R, R, R and R are the same or different and are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, unbranched, branched and cyclic alkyl and aromatic a substituted and unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R is selected from the group consisting of an unbranched, branched and cyclic alkyl and aromatic, substituted and unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and R is selected from the group consisting of an aromatic, substituted and unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical having from 6 to 20 carbon atoms; N is a nitrogen atom; O is an oxygen atom; C is a carbon atom. In addition, the present invention relates to a method for producing said polymerization catalyst composition and to a polymerization catalyst system comprising said catalyst composition, cocatalyst and optionally an external electron donor. Moreover, the present invention relates to a polyolefin obtained by the method according to the invention, and to the use of a compound of formula I as an internal electron donor in olefin polymerization catalysts. |
