abstract The invention relates to the use of a polyquaternized polymer resulting from the interaction of i) dialkylamine of the structure RRNH, where R and R independently represent hydrocarbyl groups containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms; ii) a difunctional compound selected from the group consisting of epihalohydrins, diepoxides, precursors of epihalohydrins and epoxides, which, under alkaline conditions, are easily converted to the corresponding epoxy compounds, and mixtures thereof; and iii) optionally, a polyfunctional amine selected from the group consisting of ammonia, primary amines, alkylene diamines containing 2-6 carbon atoms, and polyalkylene polyamines of the structure HN- [RN (R)] - R-NH, where y is an integer in the range from 1 to 5; R5 is an alkylene radical containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms; and R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a hydrocarbyl group containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and an ω-aminoalkyl group containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms; as a depressor in the method of froth flotation of potash ores.
