titleOfInvention METHOD OF PROCESSING OF LATERITE NICKEL ORES WITH OBTAINING REFINED FERRONICEL
abstract The invention relates to a method for processing lateritic (oxidized nickel) ores containing nickel, cobalt and iron. The method of processing includes the production of ferronickel raw materials (ferronickel crusts or nickel-plated iron) by appropriate methods and refining of ferronickel raw materials in a side-blown furnace. At the same time, oxygen-containing blast, coal and fluxes are supplied to the side-blown furnace. Oxygen-containing blast, coal and fluxes are supplied in quantities necessary for the complete combustion of carbon and hydrogen contained in the fuel; for complete melting of metal and slag formed in the process; to remove impurities (Si, Cr, C, S, P) and iron to the extent that the resulting ferronickel is responsible for the content of nickel and these impurities international quality standards. The technical result of the invention is to obtain a commodity ferronickel that meets the requirements of international standards.
