abstract The invention relates to new derivatives of 5- (3-aminophenyl) -5-alkyl-5,6-dihydro-2H- [1,4] oxazin-3-amine of the formula (I) where the definitions of the substituents R and Ar are given in the claims, in as inhibitors of beta-secretase, also known as an enzyme that cleaves amyloid precursor through the beta site, BACE, BACE1, Asp2, or memapsin2. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds, to methods for producing such compounds and compositions, and to the use of such compounds and compositions for the prevention and treatment of disorders involving beta-secretase, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), mild cognitive impairment , aging, dementia, Levi calf dementia, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, dementia due to multiple heart attacks, Down syndrome, dementia associated with stroke, dementia bathroom with Parkinson's disease and dementia associated with beta-amyloid.
