The invention relates to the production of immunoglobulins for intravenous administration. Disclosed is a method of obtaining an enriched IgG composition from a cryo-supernatant plasma, comprising the steps of precipitating a cryosupernatant plasma fraction in the first stage of alcohol precipitation to obtain a first precipitate and a first supernatant containing IgG; the deposition of IgG from the first supernatant in the second stage of precipitation with alcohol to obtain a second precipitate containing IgG; suspending the second precipitate in extraction buffer to form a suspension; precipitating IgG from said suspension with alcohol to form a third precipitate containing IgG; suspending the third precipitate in an aqueous solution to form a suspension having a soluble portion containing IgG and an insoluble portion; and separating the soluble portion from said suspension to form an enriched IgG composition, wherein at least one of the first precipitation step, the second precipitation step, or the third precipitation step contains the addition of alcohol by spraying. The invention can be used to improve methods for the production of immunoglobulins for intravenous administration. |
