abstract SUBSTANCE: invention provides a cosmetic contact lens having gloss and a method for its manufacture. A layer is deposited on the surface of the contact lens, containing particles of cholesteric liquid crystals (glitters) providing reflection of light, with a particle density (ρ) of more than 0.5 units/mm and a randomness coefficient (k) of more than 0.55. In a method for manufacturing such a contact lens, a composition containing light-reflecting particles of cholesteric liquid crystals is applied to its part, so that the lens has a particle density (ρ) of more than 0.5 units/mm and a randomness factor (k) of more than 0.55. Such lenses create the effect of radiance (shine) when looking at the lens worn on the eye. The effect of radiance is created while maintaining the natural appearance of the eye.
