abstract The invention relates to a liquid cleaning and disinfecting composition for hard surfaces. The inventors have found that the inclusion of benzalkonium chloride and selected salts of di- or tricarboxylic acid in combination with thymol or terpineol provides a quick synergistic antimicrobial effect, and this effectiveness is achieved at very low concentrations of thymol and / or terpineol.
