The present invention is the use of lanthanum carbonate for a new purpose, namely as an active ingredient of an anti-inflammatory agent for the treatment of contact dermatitis. According to the essence of the claimed invention, a pharmaceutical composition is presented, which has an anti-inflammatory effect and contains lanthanum carbonate with pharmaceutically acceptable additives, and its use for a new purpose.
