abstract | A method for preparing a system of a heterogeneous olefin polymerization catalyst containing an organometallic compound of a transition metal of group 4-16 of the Periodic Table (IUPAC 2007) in the form of solid particles, comprising the steps of: a) preparing a solution (A), which includes a) an organometallic compound a transition metal of Group 3-6 of the Periodic Table (IUPAC 2007), a) a co-catalyst comprising an element of Group 13 of the Periodic Table (IUPAC 2007) and a) a solvent (A-1), b) preparation of a liquid-liquid emulsion system by dispersing a solution (A) in a solvent (B) very poorly miscible with said solution (A) in the presence of a polystyrene-b-fluoro-polystyrene copolymer according to the formula (I) where n is a number that takes values from 10 to 100, m is a number that takes values from 1 to 40, x is a number that takes values from 5 to 16, y is a number that takes values from 11 to 33, provided that o m, n, x and y are selected in such a way that the block copolymer dissolves in solvent B or in solution A to such an extent that a stable emulsion is formed upon the addition of the block copolymer, b) the solvent (B) constitutes the continuous phase of the emulsion, b ) the solution (A) is present as a dispersed phase in the form of droplets; and b) both an organometallic compound and a co-acting catalyst are present in the droplets, c) curing said dispersed phase to convert said droplets into solid particles, and d) optionally recovering said particles to obtain said catalyst system; heterogeneous catalyst for olefin polymerization without a carrier, which can be obtained by this method, and the use of the catalyst when |
