titleOfInvention | METHOD OF OBTAINING OLEFIN PRODUCT FROM OXYGEN-CONTAINING ORGANIC RAW MATERIALS |
abstract | The invention is a method for producing an olefin product from an oxygen-containing organic feedstock, comprising the steps of providing a mixture of said oxygen-containing feedstock, a hydrocarbon and an additionally inert diluent, contacting said mixture in a reaction zone having an inner surface (MTO reactor) with a zeolite catalyst, at conditions effective to convert at least a portion of the oxygenated organic feed to olefin products (MTO reactor effluent), a reactor effluent containing light olefins, a heavy hydrocarbon fraction and unwanted by-products is recovered, wherein at least a portion of the inner surface is passivated such that undesirable by-products are reduced compared to the non-passivated inner surface and / or one or more sulfur compounds are co-introduced with said oxygenate feedstock and hydrocarbon, and said sulfur compound is capable of reducing undesirable by-products compared to the situation when the sulfur compound is not introduced. The invention is of great interest when using a catalyst of the ZSM type, such as ZSM-5, additionally containing phosphorus and regenerated in an MTO reactor. |
