titleOfInvention | METHOD OF DISINFECTION OR STERILIZATION OF THE PRODUCT |
abstract | A method of disinfecting or sterilizing a product, including placing a product or part of a product inside a container that has a wall, at least part of which is a semipermeable tissue or membrane, and introducing some amount of evaporated biocide, preferably hydrogen peroxide in water, into the specified container in the form of a solution, steam, liquid or preferably sprayable agent. A semi-permeable tissue or membrane is selected to allow the biocide to pass from the inside to the outside of the container as vapor at atmospheric pressure and to provide a barrier against the ingress of microorganisms. It is possible to exit the biocide from the container through the specified membrane at a pressure equal to or greater than atmospheric; fluid, such as air, is directed to penetrate the flow, adjacent to the outside of the membrane, to enhance the removal of steam from the inside. The product is exposed to a biocide for a time sufficient to disinfect or sterilize the product. |
