In the compound, IZ is a group of the formula —C≡C — R or —CH = CH — R; m and n are 0, 1 or 2; Y is a linking group or is absent; R represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or a C-C1-6 alkyl group; ---- denotes an arbitrary double bond; and R, R and R are selected from a wide range of selectively substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl and heterocyclic groups. The compounds are mGlu5 antagonists used in the treatment of neuromuscular dysfunction of the lower urinary tract, migraine and gastroesophageal reflux disease in animals.
