abstract The invention relates to a method for processing a component-containing material including oxidized or surface-oxidized mineral components, which includes the step of crushing the component-containing material; contacting the crushed component-containing material with a sulfide solution to sulfidize the oxidized or surface-oxidized mineral components; and adding ions of the selected non-ferrous metal to the crushed component-containing material. The component-containing material may contain oxidized or surface-oxidized minerals of non-ferrous metals or noble metals. The crushed component-containing material is prepared in the form of a slurry or slurry containing 15 to 40% solids and a residue containing water. The sulfide solution preferably contains a soluble sulfidizer such as sodium hydrosulfide and a solution of non-ferrous metal ions such as copper or iron. In a preferred embodiment of the method, the concentration of sulfide ions in the slurry was detected by an ion-specific sensor, which detects the concentration of sulfide ions as a potential, and the amount of sulfidizer solution in the slurry was controlled to maintain a predetermined measured sulfide ion concentration or near a predetermined value. The invention encompasses an installation for processing component-containing material according to the method.
