MICROFIDENTIAL DEVICE FOR IDENTIFICATION, QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION AND AUTHENTICATION OF LATENT MARKERS |
abstract |
Devices and methods are proposed for identification, authentication and quantification of one or more hidden markers contained in a material. The device contains a microfluidic cell, a liquid transfer system and a detector system and is an integral unit that provides an automated method for in line identification of one or more materials containing at least one latent marker that can be converted into an active form. The microfluidic cell is designed to receive material containing a latent marker and has at least one inlet for receiving one or more liquids and one or more outlets through which the liquid exits. The fluid transfer system is operatively connected to the microfluidic cell and delivers fluids to the microfluidic cell. A detector system, which may contain a source and a sensor, is located downstream of the outlets for detecting the active shape of the marker. With the help of the device, a number of independent processing and analysis steps are combined into a single portable unit. |
