The invention relates to a cosmetically acceptable composition containing one or more hydrophobically modified polyacrylamides and one or more cosmetically acceptable excipients, wherein the hydrophobically modified polyacrylamide consists of acrylamide, one or more cationic monomers, and possibly one or more anionic monomers, and is modified by transamidation with one or a more hydrophobic amine, and to a method of treating a substrate selected from hair, skin or nails, comprising applying the composition to the substrate. The composition can be incorporated into hair, skin and nail care products, as well as household products such as household cleaners and laundry detergents. |
