RAGE-based fusion proteins are described, including RAGE polypeptide sequences attached to a second polypeptide other than RAGE. In a RAGE-based fusion protein, a RAGE polypeptide domain including a RAGE ligand binding site and an interdomain linker directly attached to the C2 domain of an immunoglobulin can be used. Such fusion proteins can provide specific, high affinity binding to RAGE ligands. The use of RAGE-based fusion proteins as therapeutic agents in RAGE-mediated pathology is also described. |
