Described is a method for producing 1-octene, starting from butadiene, in which in the first stage (a) bis-hydrodimerization of butadiene to 1,7-octadiene is carried out in the presence of a palladium-based catalyst containing one or more trisubstituted monodentate phosphines in an aprotic solvent, and in the second stage (b), the partial catalytic hydrogenation of 1,7-octadiene to 1-octene is carried out in the presence of a titanium compound activated with one or more Group 13 metal alkyls (selected from boron, aluminum, gallium, indium). |
