abstract |
The invention relates to a continuous method for producing caprolactam by Beckmann rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime, and said method comprises: a) feeding (i) oleum and (ii) cyclohexanone oxime to the first reaction mixture containing caprolactam, sulfuric acid and SO, b) feeding (iii) part of the first the reaction mixture and (iv) cyclohexanone oxime into the second reaction mixture containing caprolactam, sulfuric acid and SO, c) withdrawing a portion of the second reaction mixture, and further the method involves producing cyclohexanone oxime, which is fed to the reaction mixtures by: 1 ) preparing an organic phase containing cyclohexanone oxime dissolved in an organic solvent; 2) isolation of cyclohexanone oxime by distillation from the indicated organic phase. |
